A fire broke out at our production site in Hustopeče this morning (around 7:30 a.m.). The fire affected the old hot-dip galvanizing plant, which was shut down at the time of the fire and was being demolished.
The fire started during the dismantling of old technology. The remains of plastic tanks and part of the old structure were burning. Thanks to the quick intervention of the firefighters and the prompt reaction of all those present, the situation was quickly brought under control – no one was injured and material damage was prevented. There was no leakage of any hazardous substances into the soil or into groundwater or surface water – the plastic tanks were empty and did not contain any chemicals.
We thank the Fire and Rescue Department and all IZS units for their quick and professional intervention.
The fire scene is now completely contained and production operations have resumed.
